It’s Ridiculous: That @#%& Groundhog and His Shadow!

I have nothing against groundhogs. (Except for the one that lives under my neighbor’s shed and who is a nasty ass beast who tries to attack my dogs!) BUT. SERIOUSLY GROUNDHOG, will we ever have an early spring? I mean let’s look at the numbers.

In case you are still in bed (or elsewhere than on the NorthEast), old Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow AGAIN. SO six more weeks of Winter. WTF DUDE.

Found on CBS News: Records dating to 1887 show Phil predicting more winter 102 times while forecasting an early spring just 18 times.

Anyone else with a track record of work like that would have been handed a pink slip at least a dozen times by now! I am serious.

Not that I expected any differently. I actually forgot today was Groundhog Day till a coworker messaged me this morning fussing about the Groundhog and his results. LOL

The good news is six more weeks gets us into March. And April will be right around the corner. But this Winter has been dullsville at its finest.

Now I want to stuff my face with cake and wait for Spring!

Meanwhile it is cold, and windy, but the sun is out. I just took the recycle bin out and thought thank god I am having a lesson tomorrow with Emily and not today. I am sure it will be cold tomorrow, too. And now they are calling for snow on Sunday here. ICK!

Not enjoying myself so far. How bout you all? (I know some of you have even worse winter months!!) But it is Friday and we made it through another week.

The Super Bowl is this weekend which means watching the commercials and fast forwarding thru the game (I truly care less about Super Bowls or football). Do you all have big plans (horsey or not) this weekend?

And I know there are both Eagles and Pats fans that will be on the edge of their seats on Sunday. May the best team win (have to say I am not a fan of either but have to go with the Eagles over Tom Brady, sorry not sorry)! 🙂

And I am also sorry, but Justin will not be the best Super Bowl Halftime show  I am afraid…..that honor was in 2007…..best show ever….

I’m only going because I’m meeting my parents down there for my brother’s college parents weekend + work on Monday and there will be no ponies involved so that should give me like, half a vote back? And I’m coming back to an estimated 3″ of snow on Tuesday so that should totally give me my other half back!

  3. Haha yeah I’m in the same boat. I watch the superbowl for the commercials not the game. I’m going with the underdogs as well. I don’t really care but hey I’m not the biggest Brady fan. I’m not even a football fan really so it doesn’t matter lol. Hopefully I’ll ride some, my mom is making delicious appetizers and food is all that DOES matter LOL

    1. I like him a lot but lately he seems to mug for the cameras so much he annoys me. (If he is just singing I am fine!). But I do have him on my itunes so i do like him!! (Just wish he would dial down the mugging a bit IE on red carpets etc>…) 🙂

  6. Sooo my ride last night got canceled by snow and ice… and today it looks like I won’t be out of work until after dark… and by then temps will probably fall back into the teens. So this weekends plan is just to… get started on the plan! 🙂

  9. BOO TOM BRADY (GOOD JOB EAGLES!). And weather? Eh. It’s winter and the spring equinox, groundhog or no, is still March 20. I certainly miss more reliable weather and consistent riding, but I really can’t begrudge what is rather normal weather for the region during the winter season!
