Well most of my critters are now in NC with me. Remus arrived on Monday night (AKA Tuesday am early) to his new place. He traveled well and came off the trailer bright, hydrated, and not bothered much at all.

His dapples are on point this Fall and he seems very chill and not worried at all in the new place. He has his own field but horses are on all sides of him and he is eating like a champ (DUH) and just goes in and out as he wants. He seems to be enjoying all the turn out though SUMMER has returned for some reason after Frost earlier this week and it is going to be high 80s the next few days.
He has no winter coat yet so home boy better start growing some. Anyway slowly getting settled, all of us. Now to unpack more boxes and my trailer this weekend so I can actually haul my horse somewhere!!

Happy Friday!

Glad to see him in his new home and settled!

Hi Buckskin. I saw the title to your latest post and realized you moved to my home town. I am part of a riding/driving club consisting of middle aged eventers/dressage riders and former rodeo gals. We get together a few times a month for trail rides, clinics or just going out to eat. Would love to welcome you to our herd. Here is my email if you want to connect ncbaymare@gmail.com
I am sure you have been told to vist Thoroubred Training Center (TTC). They host all the local shows and have open facility days for non boarders to use their ring, eventing fields and trails. They are also the place to get quality hay if you have a picky eater or special needs horse. Their orchard and alfalfa are always top notch.
Best local feed store is Strauss House Feeds- owner Dani is an absolute horse nerd and can special order to make sure your horse gets exactly what he needs
Best vet for diagnostics- Davie County Large Animal *pricey
Best vet for everything else- Lexington Large Animal- yes they travel to clemmons area. Friendly, responsive and great prices
Best kept local secret- trail riding at Tanglewood park. You can trailer in for just $2.

How wonderful to have a horse that goes with the flow. Looks like the new environment suits Remus well. I imagine you are exhausted with everything you’ve experienced recently, but it also sounds like you are excited about what the move to North Carolina has in store for you. Nice!
