I don’t have time to write an in-depth recap of the last week or so but let’s just say it has been a roller-coaster of a ride.

Remus is doing great, he is happy and fat (duh) and getting sounder by the minute. Still has some odd steps but over all so much comfy and of course the fact it cooled off for a hot second (50-60s at night, 70s daytime) not sure if it is the shoes or the change in weather that has helped but he is great.

No it is that special flower Luna who is causing me all the stress. Luna has gone to being pretty feral for a farrier and of course is lame again. So even though her lameness got better we went ahead and called the vet out. She was supposed to first get a lameness exam. Read above about feral. That didn’t happen so I told my vet to drug her and get x-rays. It took a twitch and an IM injection and then an IV but once we got it done, Luna was in a great place. Not 100 percent but at least we could do stuff. I meant to get more photos but it was a stressful hour or so so only got this one. Turns out a drunk Luna is the BEST Luna! Who knew!??

Anyway we have a plan of action, we have some bad news about her feet, and some good news about finding a farrier to help her be as sound as she can be so we can get her back in the training full time and get her realizing that being a diva is not only frowned upon but unacceptable!! Wish us luck! We may need it. Also she is not so unsound now so that is good. But for four years old she is a lot to take in. UGH. Next time I buy a yearling, someone smack me first. Thanks!

Luna most days….
I need to write down everything in a semblance of order before I word vomit all my feelings on this blog. Happy weekend all!

Glad to hear Remus is better!! And re Miss Luna, I wish I could tell you mares and their opinions get better with age… lol jk?

Oh boy. Well I’m glad Remus is feeling better!
I’m sorry about Luna and her feet… and her drama! Four year olds get like that. Testing their boundaries and blah blah blah. Hopefully once her feet are straightened out, like you said, she can get back to learning how to be a respectful baby horse!
