Drove to Memphis last week with Betty White (Foster) in the car with me. I saw horrible conditions through the mountains of NC. Poor people. UGH.

The plan was to get in Thursday evening but while beautiful for the first part of the drive, it soon clouded up and the rain begun. So we ended up stopping early in Jackson, TN for the night. Betty was an angel in the hotel which surprised me as I had no idea how she would be. Slept in her crate without a peep all night long.

The next morning was CHILLY but at least no more rain. We headed into Memphis and headed to meet Betty’s new parent. Well after meeting her and signing paper work etc we got her in the car with her and the elderly lady (She was quite old honestly) went to move Betty and Betty snapped. And tore a good part of her skin. Sigh. I kind of knew then but we putzed around a bit then I finally asked the lady did she still want to try her (to be honest Betty can’t see real well and is a grump but I had explained all of that.).

You can probably guess where this is going? Yes I ended up having Betty White as a guest with me at the Memphis Hilton. On the 11th floor with a long WALK To the dog walk. I had to carry her some of the time and my arms were ACHING. But she had fun and everyone adored her.

Meanwhile still coughing, I woke up Saturday am with NO VOICE. And had a conference to run. Yeah that was fun. We got it done and had a great day. I then headed to my neighbors from the farm to catch up with them and to see the minis (Betty White of course was in tow with me!).

Even though I was exhausted and still didn’t have a voice, It was fun catching up with everyone and seeing the minis. The minis are doing great actually and I felt good seeing how loved they are and that their feet were done etc.

I then headed back to the hotel to sleep and then Betty White and I were up at 430 am to head home. It was a long drive again but Betty was the greatest companion and we got home before dark. I pretty much was in bed by 630 and slept like a log as did Betty. It was a tiring weekend (AND I STILL DONT HAVE A VOICE).

Mark heads to his new job tomorrow so wish him well on his journey he will be back home Thanksgiving week. Let’s hope his wife has a voice by then.
Oh and also. I am guilty of one more thing. Yep I am a foster fail (AGAIN). I told the rescue I would just keep Betty White (We call her Betty Sue or Betty Boop most days). I don’t want to put her through that again. She was so happy to stay with me. So we got another dog. Yeah 🙂 She sure does love her stuffed squeaky toys!
Happy Friday! Luna and Remus update next week I promise!

That sucks that she wasn’t a good match for the lady, but she’s so lucky to have you! I’m glad she was such a good companion for the trip ❤ Dogs always seem to surprise us with that! And hopefully your voice comes back soon! What a crazy couple days you’ve had. Crossing my fingers they get better for you ❤

That is quite the weekend you describe. But a big congrats to you and Betty White. She is obviously where she belongs. And so glad the minis are doing well too! That is neat you got to visit with them.

It seems Miss Betty White chose you and NOT the old lady. Lol! Congrats on your new family member. I think it was meant to be. And how nice to have her company on your work trip! (Except all the carrying.) Hope you’re feeling better soon. Having no voice is so frustrating!
The minis looks very happy with their new people. Glad that worked out so nicely for them.
