I could literally repost every week about how truly hot it is in NC right now. My horse hates it, I hate it, the whole community hates it. We got horrific storms last week which did a lot of damage at our farm and still did not COOL it down one bit.

That is Toulouse’s shed roof and his fence in the photos above. Poor guy probably was in the shed when the lightning struck the tree next to the shed and the roof peeled off probably as he exited the shed. I bet he freaked. I was at the barn (my idiot horse was running in his field in the midst of the lightning and hail) and ran out to grab T just hoping I didn’t get struck by lightning while grabbing him.
It was nuts And so MUCH RAIN. And then fifteen minutes later it was HOT as F again but we had to fix fence and move branches. Our barn owner was away that week on vacation. In Fact we couldn’t even leave at first due a tree down right by the driveway entrance. It was fun. (No it was not)

The water went all the way back to my back stall (this is a DEEP barn) the rain and wind was insane. Some of my hay got soaked. Etc.

Anyhoo It is too hot to ride and my horse is still suffering from the heat and humidity. Since his breathing is bad we started him on Trihist this week. And I am just going to suck up and get clippers and clip his coat myself. I am over this in case you can’t tell.

See how he is breathing in front of THREE FANS.
Poor Finny Finn Finn…

How are you all surviving? The one note is Mark is home for the weekend (YAY) and it is our birthday tomorrow (How did I get so old)?

Have a great weekend and stay cool if you can!

Miserably hot, rainy and humid in my area too! I am over it too . . .

Happiest birthday!! Don’t get me started on the heat in TX… the horses and I are both drenched in sweat before we even start riding

Ugh, it’s the worst when the rain comes and makes it hotter and more humid. WORST! Hope things cool off for you guys soon!
