Two Posts in One Week? Who Am I?

Finn hauled to the trainer on Tuesday afternoon. I loaded him up on my own and took him early as I really didn’t know how he would react being in a brand new place on my own.

Spoilers: He was fine.

Literally unloaded and looked around and started eating.

Since the temps had dropped 40 degrees AND it was windy as F we decided to do a ground work lesson with him. Which was fine with me I was freezing and would have agreed to anything (except me climbing aboard) HA!

Laura loves Finn. She says he has a great brain and while obviously traumatized by someone with a whip in the past (Amish? who knows), he settled quickly after his first drama llama reaction. Reminder this horse has not been worked with since late December if my math is right. She is also impressed at how sensitive he is considering big old draft cross! 🙂

I am very excited to get him back into work and also excited to see what his future holds. I really liked how Laura handled him (esp when a baby draft tries to run away from the stick) and next time she is getting on him. Soon I will be taking lessons with him as well. EXCITING.

Also his tail has grown out (He is feral looking right now still with his winter coat though dapples are shining through it already).

Tail now
tail last April!

Doesn’t even look like the same horse does it?? Now if the weather will just cooperate!
