Spring has Sprung

While still coolish at night and we are still having spring rains (SO MUCH MUD) the temps are definitely rising in the daytime and it is going to be 80 here by Sunday.

no birds were hurt in this gif 🙂

I really really want to give Remus a bath but he might have a heart attack even in 80s weather once he realizes there is no hot water at his barn. We shall see but he is FILTHY. As in gross.

Does not regret his choices to be filthy at all

He is totally feral looking now and he is shedding like crazy right now (FINALLY) but you can tell he has a LOT MORE hair to come off (he is so dark still due to all that winter hair and it makes him look older).

Meanwhile in Luna news, she has a health certificate. I am still trying to line up transport. IF anyone has any suggestions or references let me know. PS don’t mention Brookledge or Equine Express. Brookledge wont even give me a quote and Equine Express never responds to my request. I love EE and used to use them and know others do but still. NADA from them. It is not a long trip (TN to Atlanta area).

Work is nuts and life is crazy. But at least the days are longer?? How you all doing? Is it getting to be spring where you are?

  1. The back-and-forth Spring weather really is a bummer! My horses are also full of shedding hair and/or mud on a continually rotating basis. They look like Remus does in his photos (Remus who still looks quite handsome, by the way!).

As far as nationwide transportation services go, in both 2014 and 2015, I used Crossroads Equine Transport to take my horses from the Midwest to Colorado and back again. I had a very positive experience with them, as had a professional boarding barn in my area which is where I originally got the reference. I can’t comment on how their service is currently though. Their website and contact info is at http://www.crossroadsequinetransport.com/.

  2. 80’s?! It was in the 30’s here today. Ridiculous. And it won’t stop raining! But I’m glad it’s not snow.
For shippers, maybe try some of the race horse shippers, they’ll be in and out of your area a lot right now. Sally’s is good and reliable. I’m blanking on others at the moment… Maybe Johnson? Lukens too possibly, but I’m not sure how much time they spend south, they’re out of NY. Hope you find someone soon! I want more Luna news!
