The weeks are flying by. I can’t believe 2025 is staring us down so soon. UGH. Convention season is nuts again (tis the season) and my work is intense.

Then I have a certain mule who got a new trailer and walked right in it to go to vet and refused to walk into it to come home for vet. There were many moments when I almost just let her go to run free. We finally got about 10 of us to drug her and push her in the trailer. I need to figure this forward button out fast. She doesn’t react she just refuses to move. So odd.

But her third farrier appt was a win. The farrier didn’t get hurt and Luna while drugged was perfect (and seriously a lot less drugs this time) so she is getting better for that at least.

Her riding has come to a stop as it is COLD AS F GUYS. As I am typing this it was 15 degrees last night. I told Lindsay no need to get cold riding a mule. It will warm up one day. Maybe.
and maybe she will learn to jump one day too LOL
We even got snow on Tuesday am. BRGHHHH
But I do love the new trailer it is a dream to pull and hook up and she actually does like it once she is in. SO much light.
I have something else in the cooker to share with you all soon. But for now…happy rest of your week.

At least she’s getting better for the farrier? Small victories!

she truly is so much better and the fact she is not trying to hurt people helps too (even loading while a mule she didn’t kick once or do anything remotely bad)

Monty Roberts Dually halter has been life changing for bad loaders for me. I don’t haul with it, but nearly always load with it.

Baby horses are terrible. Lol. Glad she was better about her feet though! Looking forward to the other update… Is it a new dog? Is it a new horse?? How long till we find out?!

My longtime riding instructor when I was a teenager and into college had one that would plant and not move. What worked for her was every time she did it, making her flex/threaten to lunge her on the lead one direction until she moved a foot, go to the other side and do the same until she moved a foot, repeat repeat repeat until she decided you were irritating and agreed to walk. Do that enough times, and she’d decide maaaybe you knew what you were doing and would agree to just walk when you caught her. (Watching the summer campers go through this was a source of great entertainment to teenage-me, who had done this enough times that she just let me lead her. lol)
