Cold Weather Goes Bye Bye, Michele does Florida…Part 1

Wow where does time go?? I mean seriously?? We had some absolutely miserable weather (as in I had to go out at midday to break ice and fill waters since it was too cold in am or pm to do it!). Luna wore two blankets for about 2 weeks. She is finally naked again and loving life. As am I considering it is going to be in the 60s the next few days. Yes please. That cold shit is not for me.

Speaking of NOT cold shit (usually) I headed to Florida this past weekend to see Mark (And Hillary who promptly got sick so I saw Amanda as well!).

But first things first, Luna got her feets done by the farrier at the barn!! YAY for progress. We used some dorm gel and she ended up being pretty good so we will continue to do the dorm gel till my farrier says differently but hey at least I don’t have to haul to vet and get her injected.

So I was supposed to go to Florida the weekend before last but it was COLD as shit everywhere including FLORIDA so I stayed home. Finally got all the animals situated in boarding and pet sitting etc. And headed to Charlotte on Thursday afternoon. To fly to Gainesville. Remember this. This was supposed to be easy. Yeah…

Got stuck in the security line at Charlotte and missed my first flight (By like five minutes) but no worries while standing in line I changed my flight to the second one which would go through Miami but fine I don’t care. THEN the flight coming into Charlotte was delayed (BY 2 hours) SO my connection would not happen. There was a 10:30 nonstop going to Gainesville so I got put on that (4 hours later at the airport). When they delayed that one incoming and said I was going to get into Gainesville at 2 am, I SAID F this and called Mark and said I was going to leave airport and go find a hotel.

Found a hotel and got into bed at like 11:30. What a waste of time (I did get my money back by cancelling so that is good). Toyed with the idea of hopping on a flight Friday am to Jacksonville but honestly COULD NOT GO BACK TO THAT CESSPOOL OF AN AIRPORT. So at 9-9:30 I jumped in my truck and headed south.

It was not a bad drive. By already being in Charlotte I missed that crap traffic so really did well. Pulled into Gainesville about 5 and was there YAY! It was a bit chilly but sunny and pretty. We went out to a local restaurant in Gainesville which we just got appetizers and then went back to the airbnb and chilled. I was pretty tired from the drive obviously but it was so good to see Mark again and also I knew Saturday was going to be WARMER! I was like BRING IT ON.
