Meet George and Quick Finn post!

I did a thing. Yes, me. No it is not a new horse. Yes it is a new dog.

We saw George on the rescue site nearby and I thought he reminded me of Ollie I applied for him and was approved and picked him up last Thursday. This rescue has a 3 week foster to adopt program which is really nice but I paid for George yesterday no reason to prolong it. He is home.

Finn meanwhile had a week off last week from the trainer due to the high temps and his heavy winter coat (STILL)!.

But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to do SOME work. So I hauled T over with Lindsay and we walked Finn all over the property etc. and then Lindsay ponied him up and down the road.

and lastly Finn went to his farrier appointment yesterday his feet were a mess due to the drought and hard ground and the flies being so bad so early. UGH

He goes back to work this week on Thursday to the trainer even though the temps are going to creep back up. Here’s hoping we can keep his feet okay (We need rain so badly here!) and keep him going in the re-training process.

He was as usual totally chill hauling by himself to the vet and it was a real ZOO there yesterday with horses everywhere and he just grazed and napped till his time.

Anyway happy Tuesday!!

  1. Welcome to the family George! My farrier put fronts back on Mae because the ground has been pretty crummy this winter and it’s not going to get better going back into summer – she’s much better with them on
