Never Wrestle With a Pig…

Longtime followers will remember this: PIGS!

You know how they say lightning only strikes once. LIARS LIARS. Pigs do manifest themselves years later.

I arrived to feed on Wednesday night. And one of the other boarders texted me as I was driving up, THERE ARE LOOSE PIGS HERE. To be honest I thought she had lost her mind.

Imagine my surprise when I arrived….and there were INDEED PIGS there. BIG ONES. UGH loose and while not agressive pretty forward and also had no problem walking up to my bumper of my truck and LIFTING It up while they scratched on it.

UGH PIG BOOGIES all over my bumper.

These pigs took us hostage for a full 24 hours. We got the two big ones in the round pen. The (FUGLY) smaller one ran loose as he could fit and out of the round pen. The horses all way around were TRAUMATIZED. It was raining and cold as shit.

Long story short the owner was USELESS and had no transport, no phone, no food for these pigs. We started calling animal control on Wednesday night. Meanwhile we put one of them in my TRAILER To take home (Only one would load). It was a NIGHTMARE. I AM TRAUMATIZED NOW in fact.

I was so cold on Wednesday night when I got home after 3 hours of trying to load stupid pigs. We all kept calling animal control and FINALLY THE CALVARY arrived at like 12 pm on Thursday. They ended up manhandling (all 8 officers) the big one into their STOCK trailer and then the baby they had to tranquilize then carry him in the trailer. It was a cluster.

Our horses loaded right into the trailer to go to the vet while all this was going on. Such good ponies we ended up going to the vet like 2 hours early just so we could let our horses out in their paddocks away from pigs (our horses we locked up overnight due to pig-gate going on at the farm).

Pigs are gone and I hope that guy got charged seven ways to Sunday for animal neglect etc. His farm was a shit heap and I almost got my truck and trailer stuck there.

I need therapy stat as do us all including a few of the horses are STILL STARING at the round pen looking for pigs.

Happy Halloween (I only wish this was a Halloween tale!) I need a nap now too!
