Two steps forward, ten steps back…

So the plan is for Finn to go to his trainer’s in June to get going. This is great and it is where Lindsay boards T and so on. We were taking him to a small combined training show in late May and are ready to get him out.

Finn meanwhile decided to tell me to hold his beer and he managed to hurt himself over a wire on Sat while everyone was playing with their ponies and left mine out to stand at the gate and paw.

I called vet on call Sunday am and while not an EMERGENCY per say they encouraged me to bring him in Monday am which I did.

And now he is staying at vets tonight while they try to get the swelling down (He is marginally lame at the trot right now which worried them but I think it is sore as hell poor guy) and then they will clean and suture it tomorrow.

Luckily he LOVES the vet hospital. I am pretty sure he thinks it is his second home. We did an ultrasound and there is some fluid in there but we do not think he did huge damage (though it is gnarly as hell to look and makes me slightly nauseous to look at it)

I hope everyone had a better weekend and Monday than I had. Again two steps forward, ten steps backwards. Anyone else???
